I’m Ashleigh, but you can call me Ash (Plot twist – my name isn’t Esther).
I’m a twenty-something year old Jesus-loving brunette all the way from sunny South Africa living in Inner-City Australia with an appreciation for a great blend of caffeinated goodness and a solid dose of laughter.

I’m a believer in hope, a lover of people, a die-hard Chicago PD fan and a law student at my local university. I absolute adore the African sunset, I’m scared of heights (so much so that I refuse to do a handstand because my feet are further from the ground and I could potentially break my neck due to my lack of upper body strength – I know, pray for me) and my talents range from dancing and embarrassing myself in social settings to making a great pumpkin soup and writing semi-legibly with my left hand.
I’m learning to follow Jesus better, love people harder and to see the world in a grayscale rather than purely black and white. A few of my dreams in life are to one day get my PhD in Law, make my world a brighter place by impacting the lives of others, to one day adopt a child and to be a great wife and mother.
Enough about me!
So, what is the purpose behind 21st Century Esther?
Quite simply, I wanted to create a space where a generation can wrestle with life and social issues, be challenged and called higher as well as be empowered to change their world and walk in the scandalous freedom that is the Gospel. I hope to provide a life-giving and thought-provoking platform where lives can be changed and where we can get to understand the human race better. 21st Century Esther is to be a place where we can journey and grow together, collectively be a voice for the voiceless and together glean in the victories and storms that life offers. To be a place where we can laugh and ugly-cry, share our embarrassing moments and the trials and errors of adulthood. My dream is to see this become more than just your average-Joe-blog but rather the starting place to see this gorgeous world of ours impacted for the better.

This is my first time blogging so I know you will be gracious and forgiving; I’m excited to see where God is going to take this and how we can impact our communities.
